Dianabol is the brand name by which the oral steroid Methandrostenolone is known. This steroid was brought to market in the USA by CIBA in the year 1959. Dr. John Bosley Ziegler is the man responsible for creating Dianabol, his motivation was to use it as an aid for American athletes competing against the Soviets. The Russians had already been using the performance enhancing effects of testosterone in their athletes for years. After discovering this, it took the Americans until 1959 to develop their own steroid to challenge the soviet doping machine.
The Russians were injecting Testosterone Suspension several times per day to increase strength and performance with great success. Dr. Ziegler would in turn developed Methandrostenolone, which would later be known as Dianabol, a much stronger hormone than Testosterone with the added benefit that it could be take orally a couple of times per day. The laboratory that sponsored Dr. Ziegler's research CIBA released the newly created Methandrostenolone under the brand name Dianabol.
For most steroid users Methandienone becomes their first steroid cycle since it is a very inexpensive compound with side-effects that are easily predictable. Since Methandienone is an oral steroid it is preferred by many people who are not ready to self-administer steroid injections.
How to use Methandienone (Dianabol)?
New steroid users will sometimes use Methandienone alone as a first try into steroids, but the muscle gained is quickly lost since these are mostly from water retention. Experienced bodybuilders use Dianabol in conjunction with other oil steroids during bulking cycles. Methandienone (Dianabol) is used to boost muscle gains quickly during the first four weeks of an injectable and oral steroid stack. When used in the common dose range of 30mg to 50mg per day, any user can see an increase of weight by as much as 15lbs.

Enzymes in the male body will turn Methandienone (Dianabol) into a strong estrogen hormone that will cause many problems. Water retention, acne and breast tissue growth are the three of the most prevalent problems with Methandienone use. If estrogen is unchecked, the breast growth condition known as Gynecomastia will make the nipples look lumpy, and would require surgery to remove tissue from under the areola and bring the chest back to normal size for a male. These side effects from Dianabol can be treated or even avoided with the use of ancillary medication such as Arimidex, Aromasin and Letrozole.
